Hey, friend!
Today’s episode is the last of a three part series called: Self-Care or Selfish?
In it, I suggest a different approach to practicing self-care. Sure, you can pamper yourself if you want. I often do. But self-care is so much more than pampering. Self-care is your responsibility. No one will do it for you. So, I am suggesting some very practical ways to practice self-care as an act of worship to your Creator.
I hope you give it a listen!

Hey, friend!
In last week’s episode, I talked about the importance of boundaries as self-care.
Today’s episode addresses the challenge many women feel to know their value and to know their worth. We play the comparison game which makes us feel devalued, less than, or not good enough.
I am convinced that it is that lack of understanding of our value and worth that causes us to discount the importance of self-care.
I also share some scriptures that point to how God values us, which should inform how we value ourselves. When we truly understand how God loves us, we practice self-care as a form of worship.
I pray this blesses you!

Episode 26: Self-Care or Selfish?

Wednesday Jul 31, 2024

Wednesday Jul 31, 2024

Hey, friend!
What is your opinion on self-care? How important is it to you?
Do you practice self-care on a regular basis? Or, have you convinced yourself that you don’t need it?
Today’s episode is part one of a three part series on self-care. Over the next two weeks, my episodes will continue the conversation. Next week, I will remind you how God feels about you and how he wants you to feel about yourself. The following week, I am going to suggest a different way to view self-care.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey Friend,
Each of us has a story to tell. In fact, if we have lived a hot minute, we have many stories. Some are big; these are the stories that had significant impact on our lives. These are often stories that involve pain and in many cases it is important to wait until the emotional open wounds have scars before we can tell them.
There are other stories, too. Some are micro-stories that pull at the thread of the big story without telling it. Other stories are more anecdotal, maybe sweet memories of our lives that we have held on to.
The problem is not that you don’t have a story. The problem may be that you don’t see the value in your story, or you don’t know how to tell it, or it isn’t time.
In today’s episode, I am going to share a simple way to tell your story that glorifies God and blesses others. And because that is the emphasis, it removes the pressure for you to include all of the gory details, which we tend to get bogged down with.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
Have you ever heard that 20% of the people do 80% of the work?
Or that 20% of employees do 80% of the complaining?
Do you ever get so hung up on the 20% missing in your life or relationships that you have a hard time enjoying the 80% that is wonderful?
Do you spend 80% of your time on tasks so that you can check a lot of things off your list, but you ignore the 20% of tasks that would bring the greatest outcome?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then this episode is for you!
I pray it blesses you,
Becky

Episode 23: My Identity Crisis

Wednesday Jul 10, 2024

Wednesday Jul 10, 2024

Hey, Friend!
Have you seen those social media posts where someone is introducing themselves to the world, and they say something like: “Hi, I’m Sally. I’m a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a Christian, and a teacher” - basically listing titles, roles and responsibilities.
In today’s episode, we are going to look at the dangers of placing our identity in titles, roles, and responsibilities, and what happens when those are stripped away.
I even share the secret to finding your true identity. It’s worth a listen.
I pray it blesses you!

Hey Friend!
Boy, has it taken me a long time to learn how to grieve. Yet, it has been one of the most important lessons I have ever learned.
In today’s episode, I share some personal stories about my journey with Grief. Whenever there is a loss of any kind, Grief moves in to take its place. When Grief moves in, she will demand your attention at the most inopportune times, until you take the time to acknowledge her presence and spend some time with her.
If, like me, you have struggled to grieve, to understand the importance of Grief, and to respect her purpose and follow her process, give this episode a listen and let me know what you think!
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, friend!
In this episode, which is the final episode of a four part series called Master Your Mindset, I challenge your Limiting Beliefs, those beliefs you have about yourself and others that keep you stuck where you are, while you secretly long to be somewhere else.
Like the other mindset blocks, Limiting Beliefs are based on fear and I, for one, am tired of giving fear so much power over my life.
So, I have shared four questions you can ask yourself to challenge those Limiting Beliefs. Once you do, let me know how it goes!
I pray this blesses you,

Hey, Friend!
When I was a child, my parents used the words: lying, fibbing, and story-telling interchangeably. Actually, they rarely used the word “lying” but I do remember them asking, “Are you telling a story?” To them, that meant the same thing.
But what I am referring to, here, is the need to create an opinion about an event, a situation or an event, a quick story in my head based on my beliefs and past experiences, a story that I believe to be true, but is probably not.
In today’s episode, I am going to show you how to tame the need to make up a story in your head that is probably based on a lot of fear and a little data.
I hope you give it a listen and then that you try the 4 steps I share with you.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
How often do you jump to conclusions, making assumptions about another’s behavior and the intentions behind that behavior?
What would it look like if, instead, you got curious?
In today’s episode, I am going to share why we make assumptions in the first place, and the damage we cause by doing so.
Then I am going to give you 3 Steps to Unraveling Your Assumptions.
Give it a listen. Then, give it a try and then let me know how it is working for you.
I pray this blesses you!

Leadership Becomes Her

Simple, Strategic Solutions for Christian Women Who Lead

Do you find yourself in a leadership role at your church or non-profit with the education you need but without leadership training?

Do you ever feel like you don’t have a voice or that your voice is not being heard?

Have you been told that you are too much or not enough?

Do you worry about what others think of you?

Are your secret fears affecting your leadership?

Do you run from conflict at all costs, convincing yourself that you are fine when, clearly, you are not?

Do you put yourself last, postponing any type of self-care because you are trying to take care of and please everyone else?

Have you started to question your calling?

The mission of Leadership Becomes Her is to help Christian women who serve in churches as a vocation or a volunteer, or women who work in non-profits or small business by equipping you to lead with faith, confidence, and purpose. You will learn to own your giftedness while identifying areas of growth in your leadership so you can navigate a path for transforming into the leaders God is calling you to be.

All too often, women who volunteer in churches or non-profits, as well as stay-at-home-moms do not see yourselves as leaders. However, volunteers are often given huge responsibilities by organizations that cannot afford to hire more employees and stay-at-home-moms usually manage the entire household. It is important to note that leadership is not about power, it is about responsibility and women throughout the ages have demonstrated just how responsible they are.

I emphasize foundational leadership skills like: establishing credibility, finding your courage and overcoming fear, building confidence, learning to communicate effectively, and developing strategies for managing conflict in a way that strengthens relationships.

You will learn how to master your mindset and overcome fear

You will develop the toolbox to lead and manage your life, and resolve conflict in a way that builds healthy relationships
