Hey, Friend!
We would probably all agree that strength is important in a leader, especially mental and emotional strength, but that’s not where great leadership begins. That kind of strength is cultivated over time with experience.
Great leaders take the time for self-reflection, evaluating what is working and not working and what they need to do differently. Great leaders turn their mistakes, their failures into learning opportunities.
But in order to ask yourself those questions, you must leave pride at the door and enter into those conversations with humility and a desire to learn.
That is where great leadership begins. With humility.
In today’s episode, I am going to share with you some traits of a humble leader. See if you can find yourself in this description.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
I will say it again. Personal growth and development is about becoming and it is never too late to become an effective leader. But, you MUST be willing to self-reflect, to ask yourself the hard questions, and to use your answers as the springboard to becoming.
At the end of this podcast, I share with you how to access my free guide: The Three Pillars of Rock-Solid Leadership. This is a self-assessment and you will find it sooo helpful!
And once you have determined the areas of your leadership that need some work, let’s see together how I can serve you. I want to help you build a strong foundation upon which your leadership can stand tall.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
The very name - Empty Nest Syndrome- indicates that it is a big deal. I think it could also be called:
Hole in My Heart
or
Deafening Silence in My Home
Regardless of what you call it, it is a major life transition and we must learn how to navigate it so that we can enter the next chapter of our lives in a healthy way.
In today’s episode, I reframe how your relationship with your child changes when they go off to college and give some suggestions as to how you can look forward to life after empty nest.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
I used to be a private person but my little girl taught me in one authentic move that it is more important to show people who you really are on the inside.
But it would be years later before that lesson sunk in. It took a public tragedy in my life, when I could no longer hide my reality, for me to realize that when we authentically and vulnerably share our stories, it connects us.
And those connections are real because we are being real.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
If you have ever said, “I didn’t have a choice!” then this episode is for you. In today’s episode, I talk about the power of choice and I share a technique for evaluating your choices so that you can make the best choice possible.
I believe that one of the most important skills we can develop is the capacity to make good choices. The choices that I make can affect me now and they can also affect the future me. My choices also can affect others. Recognizing that I always have a choice and evaluating which choice is the best one is a very big deal.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
I think it is important to make informed decisions so I have been watching and reading everything that comes my way about this presidential election. But I have to admit, I am tired of the meanness.
As I have reflected on elections past, I am reminded that it wasn’t always this way. In today’s episode, I share a story about the leadership example of a particular presidential candidate. Even though he lost, I learned so much from his commitment to debating without demeaning.
Even after his death, he taught me something that I am going to apply moving forward.
I hope you give it a listen!

Hey, Friend!
Resilience is a great skill to have. It is imperative that leaders have resilience but if you are a woman in ministry, you need an extra dose. Because women in ministry face additional challenges that men don’t have to deal with and those challenges can knock the wind out of you.
In today’s episode, I share some of the challenges that are unique to women in ministry and an important step that you can take to become more resilient so that you can face those challenges.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend!
As a coach for Christian women, I get to work with some amazing women in ministry. Some have degrees in ministry; others come to ministry as a second career. But what they all have in common is a strong calling from the Lord to ministry and a desire to be obedient to the call.
As prepared as they are with a formal education and even experience, what women are often unprepared for is the uniqueness of working for a church, a largely male-dominated field.
So, Amanda Box, a communication coach, and I, a leadership coach, partnered together a few years ago to develop an online workshop called:
Leadership Bootcamp for Women in Ministry
In this workshop, we teach foundational leadership skills in a group setting, while creating a community of women who are doing similar work. It is a powerful experience!
I encourage you to go to our website:

to register. Be sure and scroll down to the bottom and check out some of the testimonials we have received from past participants.
I pray this blesses you!

Hey, Friend,
If you work at a church or nonprofit, then you know how necessary volunteers are. But recruiting volunteers takes so much time and keeping them is really hard.
In today’s episode, I am going to share with you a strategy for having volunteers that are worth their weight in gold. It requires a different strategy for recruitment and an understanding that once you get these volunteers, you have to take care of them in very specific ways.
I pray this blesses you!

Leadership Becomes Her
Simple, Strategic Solutions for Christian Women Who Lead
Do you find yourself in a leadership role at your church or non-profit with the education you need but without leadership training?
Do you ever feel like you don’t have a voice or that your voice is not being heard?
Have you been told that you are too much or not enough?
Do you worry about what others think of you?
Are your secret fears affecting your leadership?
Do you run from conflict at all costs, convincing yourself that you are fine when, clearly, you are not?
Do you put yourself last, postponing any type of self-care because you are trying to take care of and please everyone else?
Have you started to question your calling?
The mission of Leadership Becomes Her is to help Christian women who serve in churches as a vocation or a volunteer, or women who work in non-profits or small business by equipping you to lead with faith, confidence, and purpose. You will learn to own your giftedness while identifying areas of growth in your leadership so you can navigate a path for transforming into the leaders God is calling you to be.
All too often, women who volunteer in churches or non-profits, as well as stay-at-home-moms do not see yourselves as leaders. However, volunteers are often given huge responsibilities by organizations that cannot afford to hire more employees and stay-at-home-moms usually manage the entire household. It is important to note that leadership is not about power, it is about responsibility and women throughout the ages have demonstrated just how responsible they are.
I emphasize foundational leadership skills like: establishing credibility, finding your courage and overcoming fear, building confidence, learning to communicate effectively, and developing strategies for managing conflict in a way that strengthens relationships.
You will learn how to master your mindset and overcome fear
You will develop the toolbox to lead and manage your life, and resolve conflict in a way that builds healthy relationships
